Open Water Swimming Events in Cornwall 2025

There are some amazing, scenic and challenging open water swimming events in Cornwall every year. Whether you’re thinking of doing one to set yourself a personal challenge or to raise money for a worthwhile cause; there are a whole number of swims, swimrun, aquathlons, biathlons, triathlons and much more scheduled around our beautiful coastline throughout the year.

If you’re signing up to an open water swim event (whether in Cornwall or elsewhere) and want to do some training or a test-swim in a supportive environment, or if the idea of swimming in a mass-participation event isn’t your thing, then get in touch!

Saturday 17th May
Roadford Lake Swim – 750m/1.5km/2.5km/5km – Roadford Lake, Lifton

Sunday 1st June
Bude SLSC 2km Swim – 2km – Northcott Mouth to Crooklets, Bude

Saturday 8th June
Looe Island Swim – 1 mile/1.7km – Looe

Sunday 15th June
The Gwineas – 3.8km Swim around the island at Gorran Haven

RNLI Castle to Castle – 1.6km (1 mile) - Pendennis Castle, Falmouth

Saturday 5th July
Sea Swim Cornwall 10km Day – 4 swims, over 1 day, totalling 10km – St Mawes, Roseland Peninsula

Sunday 27th July
National Masters Open Water Championships – Rother Valley County Park, Sheffield (Out of County)

5k Across the Bay – 5km - Falmouth Bay

Friday 8th August
Padstow to Rock Swim – 1.6km (1 mile) – Rock, Cornwall – Non-elite entries closed, still space for elite swimmers (30 minute time limit for swim)

Saturday 2nd August
St Michaels Mount Swim – 2.5km – Marazion

Sunday 17th August
Imery’s Kaolinite  – 3km - St Austell - Quarry swim

Cawsand Bay Swim – 2km/4km – Cawsand (Near Plymouth)

Hokey Cokey SwimRun St Austell Bay – 2 distances (Strong, approximately 13.8km of running and 5.2km of sea swimming over 11 stages, or Short, approximately 7.8km of running and 2.5km of sea swimming over 7 stages) – Charlestown

Saturday 5th July
SwimRun Roseland – Long distance (36km total – 8 km swimming, 28 km running) or Short (25km total) – Roseland Peninsula

Sunday 17th August
IMERYS Kaolinite – (3 & 6km SUP race and 3km swimming, 15km running)
Blackpool Pit, St Austell

Saturday 6th September
The Gribbin – Short & Long Courses (Short = 7 stages, 7.1km of running and 3.2km of sea swimming, Long = 13 stages, 17.9km of running and 4.7km of sea swimming) – Fowey

INTOTRI Newquay Triathlon – Little Goat (375m swim | 8.7k bike | 2.9k run) or Big Goat (750m swim | 20k bike | 5.4k run) or Olympic Goat (1500m swim | 37.4k bike | 10k run)

INTOTRI Bodmin Triathlon – Little Dragon (200m swim | 13k bike | 2.5k run) or Big Dragon (400m swim | 26k bike | 5.6k run)

INTOTRI Falmouth Triathlon – Little Seal (300m swim, 9.7k bike, 2.4k run) or
Big (600m swim, 18k bike, 4.8k run) – Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth

Saturday 11th October
The Awesome Foursome Quadrathlon – 800m sea swim, 30km cycle, 10km kayak, 10km run – Bude Canal Lower Wharf
